Cleaned Transcript Video title: “Scammers Go to Collect $12k from Elderly Couple, but the Police are Waiting” Video description omitted for brevity – see original prompt.

[Narrator] On September 9, 2021, deputies set up a sting operation to catch phone scammers who were trying to collect money. The black‑mail scheme was aimed at a house where a silver car had pulled up.

“Everybody, move in. 86 is after the silver Malibu.” The suspect was turning around; the silver car was coming back toward the intersection and the house.

“Get out of the car—stop! Put your hands up!”

Music plays

“Don’t move. Put your hands behind your back. Put your hands behind your back.”

[Officer] “1095, we’re—”

Music continues

“1095, I got scared. You pulled up in front of me. I thought that was a gun. I didn’t know yet—radio, clear.”

[Radio] “I see a gun. I’m back on service, radio. Go ahead and start a‑… Please, I saw the blue light before I got out of the car.”

[Officer] “No, I saw a gun. I’m so sorry. Nothing but the blue light before I even pulled that gun out—before I even got out of the car, my blue lights were on.”

[Deputy] “Why are you up here?”

[Officer] “Heading back to the city. Radio 27, out of New York, right there.”

[Deputy] “Let me check the car. We’ll put anything inside there—hey, is anybody with Atkins? Aging… what’s his name? Up that number?”

[Officer] “I’ll go up there. Are you good? Tuck a leg under—got anything on you? It’s going to hurt.”

[Narrator] “My car was on Allway Drive. When I shifted, I thought, ‘That was good.’ Right there, and then finally when I hit the shift—this is a rental vehicle, a 2021 Chevrolet four‑door, silver in color.”

[Deputy] “Hey, y’all, search the trunk. Alamo financing, insurance information not on file. NSR—what’s up, man? No, we’re towing that car to the office.”

[Officer] “No ID. This is definitely going to be seized because it’s probably from the last hit they got last week.”

[Deputy] “Find the cash on him. How much? Not much—maybe over a thousand? I don’t think so. He’s in that… yeah, so one’s in mine, the other’s in that one. Should be… what?”

[Officer] “You’re not working? No, you had the other guy in your car?”

[Radio] “TR 86, radio, please advise. Bar County, we’ve got their suspect in the suspect car.”

[Deputy] “Absolutely, but I mean—stop looking for it. They’re going to… well, you know.”

[Narrator] “What started all this? Last week I worked a day of overtime. They popped an older lady for $18 Grand. I called Smith when I heard that. I was like, ‘Bro, call C on that one—major fraud.’ I called him; he said, ‘You think they’ll come out?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ So when I heard this one, I was like, ‘Hey, van, call C because if they haven’t shown up already…’ We thought they’d never show up. This all started at 12:00.”

[Deputy] “The thing is, somebody already fell for it once. They’re getting greedy. That whole car down there—WSA weed… oh yeah. Do we… I just wonder where you’ve got a fire‑hose on your hat inside the room. I wonder where they’re staying. They’re staying at the Hyatt, I would assume. That was good.”

[Officer] “Good job, man. I told you I was coming running. So what are we charging them with?”

[Deputy] “We’re going to charge them with two counts of fraud, plus fleeing and eluding.”

[Officer] “Yeah, we got the fraud charge, and we’re going to hit them with fleeing and eluding. We’ll look back again, but that’s what we can charge them with.”

[Narrator] “How old are these folks?”

[Deputy] “They’re old—she turned 79 this month. That just made everything worth it.”

[Officer] “What time did we start this?”

[Deputy] “11:41. We got set up at 12:15. We were an hour ahead of you guys. It was his idea. He deserves an award.”

[Narrator] “You kidding me? I didn’t do any work; all I did was remember that something happened on a day I worked overtime.”

[Deputy] “Do you want this Hyatt card for a search warrant?”

[Officer] “I’ll tell you—it’s hard to say what’s inside that room. Probably mountains of cash, maybe $1,000‑plus.”

[Deputy] “There’s going to be some money seizure—bro, seizure. Radio 6, same traffic, radio 6 back on screen, radio 53 something.”

[Officer] “Come real quick, hop on out. Hop on out—right back here. You ever been to Hall County before? No? Ever been to jail before? No? All right, go to that door right there. Do I get a lawyer?”

[Deputy] “Right now you’re going to jail for fleeing and eluding, but the investigators have gotten involved—they’ll take the charges.”

[Narrator] “I got scared. I saw a black car; I thought I saw a gun. All I saw was something pull out, pointing toward me. I didn’t know what it was.”

[Officer] “Hopefully that’s enough. You didn’t drop that guy off, did you?”

[Deputy] “No, I’m going to get all that, or you can write it down for me—case number, what this is for, and all‑oting—like fleeing from the police.”

[Narrator] “No, but what is that considered? Some kind of fraud?”

[Deputy] “Where y’all stay in? Which one? I mean, you know… I kind of forgot the area—Lawrenville or Atlanta? By Atlanta, like a boat? I can’t tell you. Do you remember a street?”

[Officer] “No, I don’t remember. Is it off the interstate, near the airport?”

[Deputy] “Yeah, by the airport. How is it—high at the airport from New York? No, I don’t understand. What are y’all doing here, in my neighborhood?”

[Narrator] “Really, really… I just ripped it out of my book. Excuse me, man, you got foul? He is foul—what’s up? You are foul. Don’t eat—104, we’re out at the jail. Stand on those two yellow pads right there. Do you want me to bring mine in too? And they… I don’t see why not, but they can’t be housed together.”

[Deputy] “Hold on, give me a second. Let me get this one out. Who is it? Grab your mask on your way out.”

[Narrator] “All right, when you enter the room, take a left, face the wall, see those yellow footprints right there. Don’t say a word to each other. I will.”
