At first, one man drapes himself over a circular beam as the car drifts toward him.

Suddenly, another man – wearing nothing but his pants – shuffles down the beam to lend a hand.

Together, they grab the boy from the white, half-submerged taxi as it rushes past.

The child is then passed down a line of outstretched arms before a fourth rescuer on the canal bank catches the boy, bringing him to safety.

Moments later, the heroes rescued the boy’s mother, also trapped inside the sinking taxi.

The driver, too, escaped unharmed.

One of the rescuers was named as Assadulla Magomedov.

He is a trainee at the Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov school, and named after the legendary MMA coach.

The footage of their daring rescue quickly went viral on social media.

One user praised the men, labelling it “not a movie – just an ordinary day for Dagestan”.

In the aftermath of the ordeal, there have been calls for the rescuers to be officially honoured for their heroic actions.

Prior to the incident, eyewitnesses say the taxi veered off the road and into the fast flowing canal.

One of the men shouted to the driver to ask if there a child inside as he quickly stripped off ready to dive into the murky water.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time someone has been rescued from a sinking vehicle.

Back in October, a pensioner had to be rescued from the sunroof of his sinking Bentley after it plunged into the sea.

Retired funeral director Robert Hill had driven to a waterside car park in Dorset when his car suddenly accelerated and careered down concrete steps.

The expensive motor – worth £50,000 – rolled into the water.

The 74-year-old said he was unable to unwind the electric windows or open the doors.

As the car quickly began to fill with water, Hill feared he was about to drown.

Fortunately, echoing the bravery seen in Dagestan, three fishermen jumped into the harbour and swam toward the vehicle.

Two of them clambered onto the bonnet of the semi-submerged Bentley, desperately trying to reach Hill.

The trio then helped escort him safely back to shore as worried bystanders looked on.

Moments after reaching land, the Bentley sank to the seabed at the entrance to Poole Harbour.

Moment resucers save young boy trapped in a taxi that had veered off a road and plunged into a fast flowing canal

By WILL STEWART

This is the astonishing moment a young boy who was trapped in a taxi that had veered off a road and into a fast-flowing canal.

Hero residents in Russia‘s Dagestan region acted as the car moved downstream.

One witness immediately shouted to the driver to ask if there was a child inside, before stripping off and getting ready to dive into the murky water to save the boy.

Instead, the watching men came up with a daring plan at lightning speed.

Three, including the man in his underwear, climbed onto a metal crossbar above the canal, waited for the drifting car to pass beneath them – and reached down to grab the child from the driver who passed him through the window.

They hoisted the lad up and, precariously balancing on the narrow structure, passed him back to safety.

A fourth rescuer on the canal bank gratefully grabbed onto the boy.

Moments later the heroes rescued the boy’s mother who was also trapped inside the sinking taxi on the Canal of the October Revolution, a major waterway serving the city of Makhachkala.

The driver also got out alive, according to reports.

The crash – involved a red Seat Leon and a Citroen C4 Picasso taxi in a head-on collision on a quiet residential road in Deane.

Further video footage showing a car hitting 122mph is also understood to be forming part of a police investigation of the crash.

Cops identified the victims as Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, Farhan Patel, both aged 18, and Mohammed Danyaal, aged 19. Taxi driver Mosrab Ali, 54, of Blackburn, was also named by police.

Georgina Daniels, 28, and her husband Tom Daniels, 29 were travelling in the taxi at the time of the collision and have been left with life changing injuries.

The catastrophic crash happened just seven months after the couple’s wedding.

Tragically the future of their married life looks very different as the couple will both need 24-hour care following their injuries.

“I can’t fathom how we’re all still alive – it should have taken our lives,” she told the Manchester Evening News.

“I have no idea how we’re all still here after seeing what happened to everyone and the state we are all in.

“We’re still struggling to come to terms with the fact that all the things we’re talking about and reading about are about us. It’s hard to process.

“I can’t really put into words what it was like. I’m not sure anyone can describe what that is like.

“The pain we’ve been in itself has been relentless, just unbearable.

“Our lives will never be the same again.

“We’ve got a long journey now of rehabilitation, and both of those journeys are very different.”

Between the two of them they have had four surgeries, their two other friends who survived but have also been left with life changing injuries do not wish to be identified.

The group of four taxi passengers were travelling together after a party celebrating other friends who are moving to Australia.

Understandably, one of the things Georgina is most upset about is the fact that the couple will have to spend so long apart while they recover.

“We’ve basically always lived together – even when we didn’t have our own place, we would pack bags and stay at each other’s mum’s house for three or four days at a time.

“We’ve never been separate for too long. Now it’s our first year of marriage and we are going to have to live apart with life-changing injuries, with no end date.” she said.

Friends of the four survivors have launched a fundraiser, to help them through the unimaginable days ahead.

Overnight, £17,000 was raised in donations.

The Daniels’ paid a moving tribute to their taxi driver who was killed, Mosrab Ali, urging change on Britain’s roads.

His eldest daughter, Humayra, described her dad as a hard-working, devoted father and ‘the gentlest soul’.

Georgina said: “There needs to be road safety realisations, but that should have been done much earlier. This kind of danger can’t just be acceptable, where you just say ‘watch out.

“When people drive like that, it’s done for attention and status. It needs to be that, collectively, everyone doesn’t give it any attention or status. It just needs to be that it doesn’t happen.”

The brother of the teenager thought to be the driver of the Seat, Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, has issued a public apology to the family of Mr Ali who died in the crash.

In the videos, filmed in the car that caused the crash, his brother was driving at around 90mph at the time of the crash and said he had made “a huge, huge mistake”.

He had repeatedly told him to slow down while out driving, he added.

The future of their married life is uncertain, as Georgina says: “[Our outcome] changes every single minute.

“We have both got so many different injuries, we can’t make one decision without looking at the rest.
