Unhinged woman pepper-sprays 70-year-old NYC subway passenger over accidental bump
An unhinged woman pepper-sprayed an elderly man in the face during a clash over an accidental bump on a Bronx train last week, cops and sources said Wednesday.
The 70-year-old victim was riding a northbound No. 5 train at the East 180th Street station around 2:50 p.m. Jan. 7 when he and the aggressive passenger accidentally bumped into each other, authorities said.
The straphanger – seen wearing large glasses and headphones over a black beanie in pictures released by the NYPD – then flipped out and sprayed the substance into the senior’s face, police said.
The victim suffered pain and redness, but refused medical attention at the scene, while the assailant got away, authorities said.
The NYPD released a photo Tuesday night of the wanted suspect, describing her as a woman with a dark complexion, approximately 5-foot-2 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds.
She was last seen wearing a navy-blue jacket, a black sweater, blue pants, and a black hat.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

A female stranger pummeled and choked a 49-year-old woman when tensions flared as they inched past each other inside a Queens subway station during the morning rush last week, cops and sources said.
The victim was trying to leave the 30th Avenue N train station in Astoria around 9:45 a.m. Jan. 13 when she got into an argument with another straphanger as they walked “around each other.”
Suddenly, the enraged suspect pushed the victim from behind, punching and choking her before pushing her to the ground and kicking her in the head, police said.
The assailant fled the scene and had not been caught by Thursday.
Meanwhile, the victim was taken to Mount Sinai Queens hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
The attacker — seen in images released by the NYPD late Tuesday — is described as a woman with a dark complexion. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, a yellow sweater and blue pants.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

A homeless wacko with a rap sheet was busted on Thursday for randomly shoving a 35-year-old man onto train tracks in Brooklyn over the weekend, according to authorities and sources.
Ivan Negron, 39, was arrested around 12:45 p.m. after an eagle-eyed cop recognized him as he walked into the 14th-Street Union Square subway station.
Negron was charged with attempted assault for allegedly walking up to a man on the southbound R train platform at 36th Street in Sunset Park around 4:55 a.m. Sunday, and knocking him to the ground in an unprovoked attack, according to authorities and sources.
The homeless attacker then bolted from the scene — cops later released photos of him in the turnstile area sporting dark, curly hair and a short beard, and wearing a black and gray jacket with khakis.
Luckily, no trains appeared to be arriving at the time the 35-year-old victim was shoved. He was helped back onto the platform by responding officers and taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in stable condition.
Negron has five prior arrests, most recently on Dec. 2 for criminal possession of a controlled substance, sources said.
He was also nabbed the same day in connection to a September grand larceny case, where he allegedly swiped a bag worth over $1,000 belonging to a 26-year-old woman.
Sunday’s random subway shove was the second such attack of the year. On New Year’s Day, an apparently intoxicated Russian medical student allegedly shoved a 72-year-old man into a moving Bronx train around 3:30 a.m.
Negron was awaiting his arraignment as of Thursday afternoon.

3 shot, 2 dead, in apartment building murder-suicide, NYC police say
NEW YORK − An apparent murder-suicide on Jan. 22 left three shot, two fatally, in a New York City apartment building, police said.
The shooting occurred in the affluent Spuyten Duyvil neighborhood of northwestern Bronx, at a co-op building perched atop a cliff. The 55-year-old man suspected of shooting two others is a Port Authority police officer, a union official confirmed. Police haven’t released the suspect’s identity.
Just before 8 a.m., police responded to a call of multiple shots fired inside the building, the New York City Police Department said. On arrival, police found the 55-year-old man shot in the head, a 59-year-old woman shot in the head and an 86-year-old woman shot in the face.
Medical first responders pronounced the 55-year-old man and 59-year-old woman dead on scene, NYPD said. The older woman was transported to a New York City hospital, where police described her in critical but stable condition.
Police said the dead man is the suspect in the shooting, with a firearm recovered. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, police said. NYPD declined to answer questions about the relationship between the three and the weapon used in the shooting.
The Port Authority Police Benevolent Association confirmed the suspect was a 23-year member of the agency’s police force. Union spokesman Bob Egbert said the man’s name hasn’t been released.
“It’s a sad story,” Egbert said. “That’s all it is.”
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the regional transit and infrastructure agency, referred questions to NYPD.
