Car Theft Suspects Allegedly Ram Into Four San Ramon Police Cruisers; One Officer Injured, Two Suspects Arrested
The attempted bust of a stolen vehicle ring went sideways in San Ramon Sunday night, as the suspects allegedly started ramming into police cars and left one officer with minor injuries, and two of the four suspects got away.
The San Ramon Police Department set a trap Sunday night to catch some perpetrators of a car theft operation. The department had identified a possible stolen car ring, so they staked out to wait for the perpetrators at a spot on Ivy Hill Road where they thought those same perps had previously abandoned a stolen car. They waited, and sure enough, their four suspects came rolling up in a Black Volkswagen Jetta at about 11 pm that evening.
But the bust got a little banged up. As KTVU explains, the suspects reportedly started ramming their car into the police cruisers, smashing up “multiple” police vehicles, in the words of that station. The San Ramon Police Department says the Volkswagen’s driver “fled at a high rate of speed,” but not before plowing into “multiple San Ramon Police Department Investigations vehicles and causing minor injury to one officer.”
All four suspects then allegedly hopped out of the vehicle and fled on foot to a nearby apartment complex.
KTVU spoke with one of resident of that apartment complex, who said he saw the suspects who “got out of the car and ran through the apartment buildings, cops chasing ’em.” That eyewitness also notes that suspects additionally hit a fire hydrant during their car-mashing escapades, which was “blasting” geysers of water.
Police did manage to catch two of the four suspects. 24-year-old Anthony Parsons of Oakley and 20-year-old Rafael Gonzalez of Antioch were both charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, car theft, and possession of burglary tools. Both are in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility.
Yet the other two suspects remain at large. Anyone with information is asked to contact the San Ramon Police Department Investigations Unit at (925) 973-2779.

Four people are in custody after a police chase that stretched from Bucks County into Philadelphia.
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Four people are in custody after a police chase that stretched from Bucks County into Philadelphia.
Pennsylvania state police say it began when troopers from the Trevose station tried to stop a stolen Honda CR-V near Mile Marker 26 on Wednesday after the vehicle, out of Upper Gwynedd Township, Montgomery County, was spotted on I-95 southbound in Bensalem, Bucks County.
The suspects took off, leading troopers on a pursuit. At one point, police say the vehicle went the wrong way on I-95 southbound.

Chopper 6 was overhead as police arrested several suspects following a chase along I-95 that ended in Northeast Philadelphia.
Two state police vehicles were struck by the suspects before their vehicle was finally boxed in near Aramingo Avenue in Philadelphia.
The suspects then tried to take off running but were eventually caught.
Three of the four suspects arrested were found in the brush by Frankford Creek.
Chopper 6 was overhead as state troopers and Philadelphia police searched the area, eventually taking those suspects into custody.
Johanse Sencion-Bautista, 18; Fredi Montijo-Rivera, 20; and Jailene Montijo, 22, all of Philadelphia, are facing multiple charges in this incident. A juvenile was also taken into custody, according to police.

Man arrested in Belgium for hitting cops with stolen car on Eindhoven highway
The Belgian police arrested a 41-year-old man in Turnhout for hitting several Dutch police vehicles, including two motorcycle cops, with a stolen car on the A2 highway in Eindhoven last month. The two motorcycle officers were badly hurt. One is still in the hospital, the Dutch police said on Thursday.
A Belgian police team arrested the man, who has no fixed place of residence, on Elf Novemberlaan in Turnhout on Thursday afternoon. Dutch detectives also participated in the arrest. The man’s temporary residence was searched, and the police seized several items.
The hit-and-run occurred around 7:00 p.m. on October 29. The police received a report of a stolen car in Geldrop. The car turned onto the A2, where officers located it. “The man is suspected of subsequently causing an accident involving several (police) vehicles, including two motorcycle officers,” the police said on Thursday.
The driver of the stolen car fled the scene, leaving several injured cops behind him. Two officers were badly hurt, and a trauma helicopter was dispatched to the scene to stabilize them before rushing them to a hospital.
One officer is still in the hospital. The other was discharged to recover at home a few days after the crash.
The Dutch Public Prosecution Service (OM) has filed an extradition request with Belgium. The suspect should be extradited to the Netherlands in the coming days.

NOTTINGHAM, Md. —
Two juveniles are in custody and one remains at large after a car theft led to a chase in northeastern Baltimore County, resulting in damaged cars and an injured officer.
Around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, a typically quiet night on Overton Avenue in Overlea was disrupted.
“It was quite scary, and now, you live in the county and you think you’re safe, but you’re not,” Robin Lacher, a resident, told 11 News.
Residents reported hearing noises and witnessing police cars and suspects running through the area.
“(I) hear a noise, and then, next thing you know, I see all the police cars out here and boys running up through the woods, down the streets, and the police officers are chasing them with the dogs,” said a resident who asked to remain anonymous.
Lacher described the scene as serious, noting the presence of about 20 police cars at the end of the road and several more behind houses.
The incident began with a 911 call reporting a stolen car from Attenborough Drive in the Nottingham area. An officer found the stolen vehicle and communicated its direction to other officers, who deployed stop sticks at Belair Road and Overton Avenue, which damaged the stolen car’s tires, causing it to crash into a parked vehicle before the three occupants ran off.
“I just saw the cops come in from all different directions down the street and from the back. It was quite scary,” Lacher told 11 News.
Another resident recounted the police pursuit, telling 11 News: “The police officers jumped the fence right next to my house and they were chasing him. They lost him, and then, next thing you know, they got another one down at the end of my street. I don’t know if it was the same guy, but I know they got one down at the end of my street.”
Police confirmed the apprehension of two occupants of the stolen car, ages 15 and 16, while a third assailant remains at large. During the chase, one officer suffered minor injuries after jumping a fence and losing his wedding ring.
“He lost his wedding ring and ripped his finger open on the fence and we helped him find his ring, and he found his ring and left, thanked us, then left. They did a very good job,” a resident said.
Authorities are still searching for the third person. Anyone with information is urged to contact Baltimore County police as an investigation continues.
