Quanterria Bennett, 18, faces multiple charges in connection to the shooting death of 14-year-old Micah Thomas.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — According to a new arrest report, the 10th and final suspect in a Jacksonville 14-year-old boy’s murder has been arrested.

On Friday, July 11, US Marshals arrested Quanterria Bennett, 18, on a warrant with charges of second-degree murder and armed robbery, her arrest report states. She’s accused of taking part in the murder of Micah Thomas, who was 14 when he was killed on New Year’s Day 2024.

According to the report, on Jan. 1, 2024 at 6:11 p.m., patrol officers were initially responding to a home on Castle Boulevard, located in Northwest Jacksonville, in reference to a reported home invasion robbery.

But while responding, officers received an update that a shooting had occurred “two houses southeast” of the robbery incident, the report states.

Officers then responded to the shooting, according to the report, and when they arrived, Micah was found lying near the doorway of his home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was then taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

The following nine people have been charged in connection to Micah’s murder, along with Bennett:

  • Emanuel Cuff, 24
  • William Middleton, 24
  • J’Nethen Jackson, 21
  • Rian Brown, 17
  • Antonio Thornton, 20
  • Roderick Brunson, 19
  • Isaiah Conner, 24
  • Lamaya Gillis, 21
  • Nailah Douglas, 30

JSO said during its investigation, detectives reviewed Ring doorbell video obtained from a neighbor, showing two vehicles — black and red sedans — “moving suspiciously” down Castle Boulevard.

Through interviews, JSO said they learned the 10 suspects were all together at Gillis’ home on New Year’s Day 2024 when they “devised a plan to rob the victim of his guns, drugs and money.”

According to the report, six of the suspects who are unnamed, mistakenly drove from Gillis’ home in two cars to a home that was two houses down from where Micah lived. JSO says one of the suspects who was a “lookout” realized they were not at Micah’s home when they “heard a female screaming from inside the house.”

“They hit the wrong house!” the report states one of the suspects said.

Afterward, the report says the six suspects left the area and went back to Gillis’ home.

“Four of the suspects decided to go back a second time to hit the correct house,” the report states.

JSO says three of the four suspects entered Micah’s home and allege that Cuff shot Micah, stole guns and then left on foot. Meanwhile, the other two suspects who entered Micah’s home ran back to their car and drove back to Gillis’ home, according to the report.

“Bennett was confirmed as the driver of the red/burgundy sedan that drove the suspects to the home where the home invasion robbery was committed, and soon thereafter, where the murder was committed,” the report states.

Bennett will have her arraignment at the Duval County courthouse on Aug. 4, court records show.

Chilling moment teenage killers find out they’re being charged with murder

15-year-old Seath Jackson was brutally murdered in 2011

Video footage captures the moment a group of teenagers found out they were being charged with murder following the death of a 15-year-old boy.

Seath Jackson, 15, was brutally murdered in 2011, having been lured to a house by his ex-girlfriend before being ambushed, viciously beaten and shot several times.

Jackson was hit in the head and shot, but he still desperately tried to flee the property, police said.

However, he was shot again and he was placed in a bathtub – his knees brutally broken so that his body would fit in a sleeping bag.

Still alive, Jackson was shot again before having his body burned in a backyard fire pit, with his ashes later shoveled into paint containers, according to arrest documents at the time.

Jackson had suspected ex-girlfriend Amber Wright, then 15, of cheating on him with 18-year-old Michael Bargo – who was the person behind the handgun.

He was sentenced to death for his role in the killing, and remains on death row, while his four co-defendants – Wright, her brother 16-year-old brother Kyle Hooper, 18-year-old Charlie Ely and 20-year-old Justin Soto were charged with first degree murder.

Chilling footage shows the moment Wright, Hooper and Ely learnt of their fate, being told: “You’re all going to be booked for first degree, premeditated murder.” Take a look:

Detective Rhonda Stroup of Marion County Sheriff’s Office explained how the two juveniles of the group would be sent to Juvenile Assessment Center, while the adult would go to Marion County Jail.

They were then told: “Take a deep breath. You’ll have no bond. You won’t be getting out. Listen to me, everybody just take a deep breath.”

When one of the teens tries to say that they ‘really didn’t do anything’, Stroup says: “No, no, no. See, but you did.

“Listen, first of all, let’s get over that hump right now – that ‘We really didn’t do anything’ – because everybody’s complicit here.

“A person died, a person was murdered.”

All the defendants were sentenced to life in prison for Jackson’s murder.

In 2020, after nine years in prison, Ely was released after pleading to a lesser charge.

James Havens – the 37-year-old ex-boyfriend of Amber Wright’s mother – was accused of helping the teens dispose of the remains and pleaded guilty in 2018 to accessory to murder, receiving a 10-year sentence.

Warning: This article contains discussion of rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment which some readers may find distressing.

Russell Brand has released a video on social media after the news broke that he has been charged with more sexual offences.

On December 23, police announced that the comedian and actor now faces more sexual assault charges.

Brand has previously been charged with two counts of rape, one count of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault in relation to offences which are alleged to have happened between 1999 and 2005, and involving four women.

These allegations first came to light in an investigation by the Sunday Times, the Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches in September 2023.

Brand, 50, denied these charges at Southwark Crown Court in the UK earlier this year.

Now, the Metropolitan Police and the Crown Prosecution Service have confirmed that Brand has been charged with two more sexual offences, including one count of rape and one count of sexual assault in relation to two women, with the charges relating to offences alleged to have taken place in 2009.

Following this new revelation, Brand took to Instagram to share a video of himself driving as he seemingly addressed this news.

Much of the statement he gave in the video amounted to a prayer, with him claiming that’ this is a time of great darkness’ of which he is looking forward to revealing the truth.

In his video, he said: “Most adored and beloved friends, season’s greetings, and it is the season of Christ Jesus, lord and savior.

“This is a time of great darkness, you are all aware of that. A time of confusion and dispute and conflict. But I have learnt in my own life that attack can bring about grace.

“I’m so grateful for the opportunity in my own life that I get to participate in change and transformation and growth and love, and I feel so blessed that I have the opportunity to atone for the many things over the years that I did wrong, and the opportunity to ensure that people understand the truth of my situation and scenario.”

Brand went on to complain about the media in both the US and UK over the last few years before issuing an apology for anyone he has ever harmed.

He went on to add: “I pray Lord, anyone that I have harmed or hurt in my years of mindlessness, in sin, would be healed Lord.

“I pray for infinite light and wonderful healing for them and I pray for the absolute truth of who I am to be abundantly revealed, and who I have always been, Lord.”

Brand is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 20 January, 2026 in relation to the two new charges.

Man charged with murdering parents after chilling confession on-air

Lorenz Kraus claimed on TV he ‘did his duty to his parents’

A New York man has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder after he confessed to killing his parents in a lengthy interview with CBS6 in Albany.

Lorenz Kraus, 53, made the claim while being interviewed by CBS6 anchor Greg Floyd after he became the subject of an investigation conducted by the Albany Police Department.

Together with the New York State Police, and the Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General, Albany police executed a search warrant at Kraus’ home at 6 Crestwood Court on September 23 after Kraus was identified in a financial crime investigation.

In a statement, Albany police said that the investigation revealed Kraus’ parents, 92-year-old Franz Kraus and 83-year-old Theresia Kraus, ‘had not been seen or heard from for several years’.

Kraus was accused of collecting his parents’ social security benefits and using the funds for his own personal use, with police noting that ‘several items of evidentiary value were recovered’ during the search.

As the investigation went on, authorities discovered two dead bodies buried in the back yard of the home.

Just two days after police first came to search Kraus’ home, the 53-year-old apparently decided to get ahead of the story.Play

He contacted CBS6, and told Floyd that he’d killed both of his parents in 2017, adding: “I buried them in their property.”

With no choice but to digest this information, Floyd responded: “You buried them in the back of that house in Albany.”

Kraus then replied: “Right.”

Kraus claimed he ‘knew [his parents] were going downhill’, prompting Floyd to ask: “They knew that this was it for them, that they were perishing at your hand?”

“Yes,” Kraus responded, before describing their death as ‘quick’.

“I did my duty to my parents,” Kraus said. “My concern for their misery was paramount.”

Immediately after the TV interview, Kraus was taken into custody by members of the Albany Police Department and charged with two counts of murder in the second degree and two counts of concealment of a human corpse.

Kraus appeared in court on September 27, but in spite of his on-air confession, he pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

His legal representative, Assistant Albany County Public Defender Rebekah Sokol, has urged members of the public to remember that Kraus is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.Featured Image Credit: YouTube/CBS6 Albany
