“I said Turn Left!” What kind of car passenger are you?

They can be your great mate at the wheel of a car – or they can literally drive you to despair!
We have dived into some of the most annoying tendencies of car passengers, with research revealing backseat drivers, snoozers and chatterboxes are among the most irritating!
Would you want to give a lift to someone who would describe themself as a ‘human satnav’ or someone with a particularly weak bladder?
No matter how irritating these people may be, we are urging motorists to think smartly when it comes to driving with disruptive passengers to ensure safety for everyone in the vehicle at all times.
Motorists around the world will all have fallen victim to one of the seven categories of passengers at some point in their driving lives.
From the ones who can’t stay awake to those who can’t stop talking, irritating company can be one of the biggest downfalls when it comes to having a car. However there are a few things you can do to ensure as little disruption as possible when it comes to driving around your friends and family.
Backseat drivers
Often labelled as the most annoying passengers, these motoring know-it-alls will spend the whole journey telling you what speed you should be travelling at, what gear you should be in or what lane is best.
When faced with one of these pesky passengers, make sure to remind them that you have planned the route, are aware of the roads and speed limits and that you would appreciate your driving not being commented on.
Nauseous travellers
If providing a lift for anyone who suffers from travel sickness, make sure to prepare ahead by keeping a couple of sick bags in your glove compartment. This way, your car companion can reach for a bag whenever they are starting to feel nauseous.
Snoozers
A snoozy car companion can sometimes become an annoyance for those who are driving tired. Making sure that you are always well-rested before driving should help beat the irritation.
Weak bladder
Everyone has that one friend who can’t make it a whole journey without requesting a rest stop. Before allowing any friends to enter your car, clever motorists should ask all passengers to have a trip to the bathroom before entering the car.
Lead singers
Those who use the passenger seat as centre stage for their one-person show, singing very loudly, missing notes and getting lyrics wrong, can cause great annoyance to drivers.
Any motorists who find themselves in the overwhelming position of sharing a journey with a karaoke enthusiast should consider turning off the music and instead playing a podcast or audio book.
Chatterboxes
The last thing drivers need when trying to focus is a passenger who doesn’t know when to keep quiet, especially if you are trying to listen out to your satnav.
Make sure to let your passenger know that it is important you can listen out for the directions your sat nav is giving you.
Human satnavs
No matter how confident on the road you may seem, there is always that one passenger who claims to know the route far better than you. They will go out of their way to let you know the best way to go and where all the shortcuts are.
Irritated motorists have no other option than to reinforce that they know exactly where they are going and have planned a route ahead of time that you will absolutely stick to.

Hay pasajeros que pueden ser grandes compañeros de viaje cuando conduces y otros que te pueden llevar a la desesperación.
Nos hemos adentrado en algunas de las conductas más molestas que pueden presentar los pasajeros en un coche y hemos observado que los de los asientos traseros, los que se quedan dormidos y los charlatanes se encuentran entre los más irritantes.

¿Te gustaría llevar a alguien que se describiera a sí mismo como un «navegador humano» o a alguien con una vejiga débil?
Por muy irritantes que sean estas personas invitamos a los conductores a que piensen bien cuando conduzcan con pasajeros molestos para garantizar la seguridad de todos los ocupantes del vehículo en todo momento.
Todos los conductores del mundo habrán sido víctimas de una de las siete categorías de pasajeros en algún momento de su vida.
Tener un compañero molesto que, por ejemplo, se quede dormido o no pare de hablar, puede ser uno de los mayores inconvenientes a la hora de tener coche. Sin embargo, hay algunas medidas que puedes tomar para garantizar las menores molestias posibles a la hora de circular con tus amigos y familiares.
Pasajeros del asiento de atrás
A menudo se les califica como los pasajeros más molestos, ya que estos sabelotodo del motor se pasarán todo el viaje diciéndote a qué velocidad debes viajar, qué marcha debes poner o qué carril es el mejor.
Cuando te encuentres con uno de estos molestos pasajeros, recuérdales que has planificado la ruta, que conoces las carreteras y los límites de velocidad y que agradecerías que no comentaran tu conducción.
Viajeros con náuseas
Si vas a llevar a alguien que sufre de mareos durante el viaje, no olvides preparar con antelación un par de bolsas para ellos en la guantera. De este modo, tu compañero de coche puede usar la bolsa cada vez que está empezando a sentir náuseas.
Dormilones
Un compañero de coche dormilón puede convertirse a veces en una molestia para los que conducen cansados. Asegúrate de estar siempre bien descansado antes de conducir, ya que te ayudará a controlar la irritación.
Vejiga débil
Todo el mundo tiene ese amigo que no puede hacer un viaje completo sin solicitar una parada de descanso. Antes de permitir que cualquier pasajero entre en tu coche, debes adelantarte a los acontecimientos y pedirles que vayan al baño.
Cantantes
Aquellos que utilizan el asiento del copiloto como escenario para su espectáculo individual, que cantan muy alto, se saltan las notas y se equivocan en la letra, pueden molestar a los conductores.
Cualquier conductor que se encuentre en la agobiante situación de compartir un viaje con un aficionado al karaoke debería considerar la posibilidad de apagar la música y poner en su lugar un podcast o un audiolibro.
Parlanchines
Lo último que necesitan los conductores cuando intentan concentrarse es un pasajero que no sabe cuándo callarse, especialmente si estás intentando escuchar el navegador.
Hazle saber a tu pasajero que es importante que puedas escuchar las indicaciones que te da el navegador.
Navegadores humanos
Por mucha seguridad que sientas en la carretera, siempre hay un pasajero que cree conocer la ruta mucho mejor que tú. Hará todo lo posible por indicarte el mejor camino y dónde están todos los atajos.
A los conductores no les queda más remedio que reafirmar que saben exactamente a dónde van y que han planificado con antelación una ruta que seguirá a rajatabla.
