When an Entitled Man DEMANDS a Flight

Entitled Southwest Airlines Passenger Demands New Flight

An entitled Southwest Airlines passenger in Nashville demanded rebooking despite visible signs of intoxication and no flight availability. When he did not get his way, things went downhill fast.

Intoxicated Southwest Airlines Passenger Missed His Flight, Then Became Irate When Southwest Refused To Rebook Him

Southwest Airlines passenger confronted by police officers at Nashville International Airport after demanding to be rebooked following a missed flight.

Bodycam footage from Nashville International Airport (BNA) shows airport police approaching a man settling his tab at an airport bar. The police ask for his ID and say they received reports that he was yelling and irate. Combative from the start, the man handed over his ID but refused to answer any questions.

He was permitted to walk over to his gate–a Southwest flight to Milwaukee (MKE)–but the gate had already closed (and he probably would not have been let on anyway since he exhibited signs of intoxication).

Not surprisingly, he was very upset, so much so that the Southwest gate agent went from being willing to book him the following day to denying him boarding altogether and refusing to rebook him.

Not to excuse this guy at all, but I find it so annoying that if you miss a flight you are considered a “trespasser” on the secure side of the airport. I hate that language and I don’t think it is constructive. But this guy certainly was not constructive in his anger and intoxication. Police tried to lead him out of the airport, but he continued to resist.

He asked police officers, “Do you work for Southwest Airlines?!” several times and demanded he be taken to a Southwest counter for rebooking. But with Southwest already having made clear that he would not be rebooked, the police refused and told him he had to leave.

Once he flatly refused to leave, he was handcuffed and arrested. Outside, he refused to cooperate and was thrown to the ground by police officers before being placed in the back of a car.

Another reminder that raising your voice and being boisterous rarely gets you what you want in life…

When it comes to  air travel, most people pre-book their seats to enjoy a comfortable journey on their flight overseas.

That’s exactly what one man decided to do when splashing out an extra £200 to secure a window seat on his flight to Brazil.

But after settling into his seat, his peace was soon disrupted by another passenger who had a request for him.

He said on Reddit: “This stranger who was seated on the middle plane seats across from me with his child asked me if I could give up my window seat for his kid. I said, ‘Sorry, but no. I paid an extra 200 dollars for this seat‘.”

He was expecting the parent to be understanding and leave it there – but the dad doubled down and gave him a “glare”.

He continued: “In my head I said, ‘Okay f*** you too!’ And went back listening to my music while looking out the window.

“Not even five minutes later a flight attendant taps me on the shoulder asking me if I could give up my seat for his kid.

“I pulled out my ticket and the receipt I got when I paid extra for the window seat and told her, ‘No, I paid extra for window seat’. She said, ‘Okay, sorry to bother you sir’. I saw her walk back to him and say, ‘no’ for me. “

Annoyed, the man glared at him again, believing the flight attendant would take his side and make him move for his child.

Commenting on his post, one user said: “I used to fly for work every few weeks. It was pretty common for this to happen.

“I did the exact same thing. If I paid extra for a seat, I said no. If I was just changing seats so family could sit next to each other, and they were polite, I usually switched.

They added: “Didn’t matter to me. Just the politeness. I was going to read most of the time anyway. If they were rude I just said no and stuck my head in a book.”

Another user added: “When I flew alone I really didn’t cared where I sat and didn’t paid extra for a pre chosen seat. But if you do care about sitting together then pay more and don’t harass other people to give up their seat for you.”

A third user said: “If a situation like this happens again, let them know that there is a £500 surcharge in order for you to move.”

One more user added: “What the hell is it with flight stewardesses asking someone that? Like no you paid for your seat stop complaining!”

‘Entitled man demanded my window seat on 11-hour flight – I got last laugh’Newspoint  |  16/04/2025 00:39:13

A woman has blasted a plane passenger for his “sheer entitlement” onboard an 11-hour – and she hopes it’ll teach others a lesson.

She explained how she was travelling from New York to Cairo – and made sure to pre-book a window seat on the knowing it would be a long, uncomfortable journey.

The woman said on : “I chose the seat with sleep in mind many months in advance; while I do frequently travel I’m not going to pretend I often jet away to Egypt so this vacation was very planned out.”

However, soon after settling into his seat, she was approached by another passenger who asked whether she’d be willing to swap so he could sit next to his wife.

She said: “The two of them seemed to be with a group of similar aged travellers; it appeared to me based on chatter that it may have been some kind of group tour (knowing the industry and that the organisers may have been negligent in seat assignments, I was absolutely willing to consider a swap if the seat was comparable).

But rather than switching with the passenger in the middle seat, who he believes would have been delighted by the trade, he started to argue with him instead.

“[He was saying] how the view is bad anyway since it’s over the wing, I won’t see anything since it’s mostly overnight and dark, etc. I just reply I plan to sleep against it and decline again,” she said.

“I’m trying to be pleasant, I’m a pleaser, and I’m stuck next to this guy. He continues to bug me like the mosquito he may have been in a former life, and asked me, ‘If you had a husband, wouldn’t you want to sit with him?’.”

In a desperate attempt to get him to leave her alone, she brought up the fact she has a husband and how she would have made sure to pre-book a seat with him ahead of time.

She added: “At this point I’m totally irritated. I stated that I do ‘have a husband’, and if my husband and I were traveling together, I’d not only ensure our seats were assigned together, but if they weren’t, I’d give up my aisle and go sit with my spouse in the middle.

“So naturally I asked where his wife’s seat was. He pointed, and she waved at me from the centre of the middle seats. ‘No, sorry, I’m going to keep my seat’ was my response.”

“He then shut up with direct comments, but grumbling persisted throughout the flight, just not to my face as he pretended to ignore my existence (perfect ending). He was still grumbling when we deplaned.”

Commenting on her post, one user said: “Why can’t people just book a freaking window seat? Why do they always want someone else’s?” Another user added: “He grumbled throughout the flight… this is why I always bring earplugs.”

A third user said: “It’s so good that he asked you about what you’d do if you had a husband. It gave you the perfect opportunity to call him out in his a***hole behaviour.

“It also shows what a terrible husband he is because he took the isle and booked his wife the middle. I’m sure his wife was thrilled not to have to deal with him.”
