Passengers Forced Off Plane After Woman Causes ‘Disturbance,’ Utah Police Say

A disturbance caused by a 20-year-old woman forced other passengers off a flight at Salt Lake City International Airport, authorities told news outlets.
The airline had to deplane other passengers in order to remove the woman as the plane waited at a gate before taking off Friday, Dec. 31, KSTU reported.
The cause of the original dispute was not explained.
Police arriving at the incident found the woman “yelling and arguing” with a supervisor at the gate after the airline refunded her ticket and barred her from flying, KTVX reported.
Officers told her to leave the gate as she was no longer a ticketed customer, but the woman argued with them, snatched back her ID and refused to leave, KUTV reported.
She refused to follow orders from officers and resisted arrest, police told KSTU. The woman also kicked an officer as police took her to a patrol car, authorities said.
She faces charges including assault of a peace officer or military member in uniform, disorderly conduct after requests to stop and interference with an arresting officer, KTVX reported.

Shocking video shows the moment a woman launched a foul mouthed racist tirade while on a flight.
The woman, in her 50s, can be seen shouting at fellow passengers and using racist language during a flight from Belfast to Manchester on Friday.
Witness Shauna Corr, 44, said: “The lady involved was a few rows in front of me — I felt very sorry for the couple sat behind her and children on the flight.
“Her language was atrocious and racist, she was making very derogatory comments about people including muslims — at one stage she even struck out at Ukrainian people.”
In the video, the woman is chastised by several passengers telling her to be quiet.
At one point a steward reprimands her for her language and warns her that he will call the police if she continues.
The woman continues swearing and shouting and is eventually escorted off the plane.
Corr said: “She was just kicking off but I think the stewards handled it really well — it was quite disgusting behavior.”
Corr said the woman’s unruly behavior began midway through the flight, and she even stole some Tayto crisps from a flight attendant without paying.

A spokesperson for Easyjet said: “Flight EZY714 from Belfast City to Manchester on 17 January was met by police on arrival due to a passenger behaving disruptively onboard.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 8:50pm yesterday evening (Friday 17 January 2025), we were called to reports of a woman being drunk and disorderly onboard an aircraft flying from Belfast in Northern Ireland to Manchester Airport.

An entitled passenger boldly told an American Airlines flight attendant to “shut up” while the employee was reading pre-flight safety instructions on a Texas-bound flight earlier this week and was promptly kicked off the plane.
Viral video posted to Instagram showed the woman telling the flight attendant “she should shut up” as safety protocols were read over the plane’s public address system on a flight from Costa Rica to Dallas Tuesday.

The female flight attendant then approached the rude traveler and immediately pushed back, the footage taken by a fellow passenger shows.
“Do you want to get off the plane? Because I don’t feel comfortable with you if you’re not going to follow instructions,” the flight attendant stated while directing her peers to turn off the address system.
The passenger played dumb, saying, “I can’t hear,” when the flight attendant began her inquisition.

“You’re not on my list as someone who can’t hear. So I’m going to ask the pilot to remove you because you’re not complying,” the crewmember fired back, adding, “You know what you did, right?”
The flight attendant then calls out the boorish passenger for not turning off her phone, according to the footage.
The clip cuts out after the traveler agrees to comply with orders, but then picks up again with her claiming to be harassed by the airline employee.
The woman was escorted from the plane, according to the footage and her seatmate, who filmed and posted the video with the caption: “empty middle seat is a win for me.”
Her seatmate, Jay Crenshaw, said he felt empathy for the flight attendant who “caught a stray” — but at the same time, also felt for the passenger who seemed to know she was out of line.
“She was having a bad morning and was obviously disturbed or irritated about something she was on the phone talking about,” Crenshaw told The Post.
“The flight attendant might’ve caught a stray. I think the passenger knows she was wrong,” he said. “She mentioned that she also lost her phone and had to borrow one.”

“I’m definitely not excusing her behavior [but] we’ve all had bad days and have said bad things because of it, but we weren’t filmed,” Crenshaw said.
“I hope people can remember this and give her a bit of grace.”
