OAKWOOD POLICE NEWS RELEASE:
“On (Saturday) at approximately (2:00 p.m.) officers were dispatched to Walmart located at 3875 Mundy Mill Road…in reference to individuals shoplifting.
Upon arrival, Officers met with Asset Protection Investigators, who stated that on 29 July 2025 a Walmart employee found a shopping cart full of merchandise outside of the area they use for on-line pickups. The employee brought the cart back inside and informed the Supervisor of what was found. The Supervisor contacted Asset Protection and informed them about the cart.
Asset Protection began to review the security camera footage to see who placed the cart out there. Employee, Nakiya Denise Galbreath (Nakiya), was identified as being the one that placed the cart of merchandise outside the business.
An internal investigation was started to determine why the cart had been placed there and/or if this was a case of attempted internal theft.
The internal investigation revealed that Nakiya had walked around the store placing all of the items into the cart. The cart was intentionally pushed outside Walmart’s door by Nakiya with the unpaid items. A detailed list of all the stolen items in the cart amounted to $911.66.
Another incident was also located. On 28 July 2025, security camera footage identified another employee as being Theresa Joan Levine (Theresa). During this incident both employees were going through the store and picking items out and placing them into the cart.
After the cart was full, Theresa pushed the cart of merchandise outside the Walmart on-line pickup door without paying for the merchandise. A detailed inventory was completed with a total of $346.56. Nakiya drove her vehicle around and assisted Theresa with loading the unpaid items into her vehicle.
On 2 August 2025, An Assest Protection Manager interviewed both employees about the thefts. Both employees admitted to the thefts and provided written statements.
Both employees were placed under arrest and transported to the Hall County Jail for (theft by taking).”
