“This is what white privilege looks like,” reads one of the top comments on YouTube.
“This woman walked into a police station and with a loaded weapon and fired the weapon multiple times…..How she wasn’t killed onsite is amazing to me.” Reads another. And to be honest, both these commenters have a pretty good point.
Footage of 51-year-old Suzanne Laprise, who has been charged with attempted murder, has been released after she walked into the Bristol Police Department police station and began firing off rounds into the station’s bulletproof glass windows, before stopping to smoke a cigarette.
Laprise was arrested “within minutes” of the incident and she should be thankful that she wasn’t killed by police. Though telling from the security footage, that is probably what she was looking for. Advertisement

COVINGTON, Tenn. (WMC/Gray News) – A Tennessee woman is behind bars after police say she neglected and abused her young son at a grocery store.
According to the Covington Police Department, Lashona Johnson, 25, is facing child abuse and neglect charges after the reported abuse was captured on surveillance video.

Covington police say Johnson was arrested after another woman told them what she witnessed while recently at a Cash Saver grocery store on Highway 51.
Officers went to the store to investigate the woman’s claims and reviewed security video while speaking to employees.
They said a store manager confirmed an incident involving a mother and her 2-year-old son that happened on Wednesday.
The manager told police that a little boy was left at the service desk of the store, so employees put out a broadcast over the store’s intercom that a toddler was alone.
About 10 minutes later, the boy’s mother approached the desk and reportedly said to her son, “You know I’m going to beat your a**, right?”
Police said she then pulled the boy from the desk “in an aggressive manner,” dragged him to the middle of the checkout line, and “repeatedly struck the child on his back.”
Between the video evidence and witness statements, police were able to identify Johnson as the mother. Police said she later admitted to being the woman in the video.
“I am so thankful that a citizen and the witnesses reported this incident,” Covington Police Chief Donna Turner said. “It is a troubling video to watch. It was absolutely the right call to say something and report the incident.”
Authorities said they checked on the welfare of the child and released him to his father.
The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services also assisted in the investigation.

SOLON, Ohio (WOIO/Gray News) – An Ohio mother has been charged with child endangerment after police say she left her kids alone in a car while shopping.
Solon police officers said they were called to a shopping center by another resident who spotted a crying 1- and 6-year-old left alone in a vehicle on Feb. 4.
“Where’s your mommy?” an officer can be heard asking the older child on body camera footage released by the police department.
“In the store, because she does Instacart,” the 6-year-old responded to the officer.
Police said the reported incident happened at the Giant Eagle supermarket on Aurora Road. Officers said the vehicle was still running and the doors were unlocked.
An employee told police the children were left alone in the car for more than five minutes.
Officers paged the mother, later identified as 26-year-old Mycal Davis, in the store and she returned to the vehicle about six minutes later, police said.
“You can’t leave your kids in the car by themselves like that,” an officer can be heard telling the mother.
“But they were sleeping and I just went to get in there really quick for their dinner,” she replied. “What’s wrong? Were they crying or something?”
“Yeah, they were crying and all the doors were unlocked,” the officer said.
Another officer added, “Anybody could walk up and jump in the car and take off and leave.”
Thankfully, both kids were safe but sometimes these situations can take a much scarier turn. Last November, a Cleveland mom left her 8-year-old son asleep in the car while she ran out to pick up food.
“While she got out of her vehicle, she noticed another car pulled up next to her car, and the next thing she knew, her car was quickly being driven away,” Sgt. Wilfredo Diaz said.
According to Kids and Car Safety, last year 118 children were left unattended in cars that were then stolen.
Authorities urge parents to never leave a child or a pet alone in their car, even for a minute.
Davis is scheduled in court on Feb. 26.
