BILOXI, Miss. (WALA) – Terrifying images of razor blades in loaves of bread sent shockwaves across the Gulf Coast.
Investigators said 33-year-old Camille Benson placed multiple razors inside bread at two Walmart’s: the Walmart Supercenter on CT Switzer and the Neighborhood Walmart on Pass Road.
Lt. Candace Young with Biloxi Police said this unusual crime spree started earlier this month on Dec. 5 when a customer found a razor blade in a banana nut muffin.
“Store associated combed through their merchandise, couldn’t find any other compromised items, thought, hey, this is just an isolated event,” Young said.
However, it wasn’t. Two days later, a customer at the Neighborhood Walmart found a razor in a loaf of bread. Young said police were not called until more than a week later, after someone else at the Super Center found razor blades in a loaf of brioche bread.
“They did another sweep of their merchandise for sale and found multiple loaves of bread that were compromised with razor blades. They also, at that time, found a muffin with a fishhook in it. Somebody had poked those items through the plastic packaging,” Young said.
Biloxi Police released surveillance photos of Benson the morning of Dec. 16. Just hours after they were released, investigators said someone spotted Benson on Division Street, leading to her arrest.
One resident in Biloxi who didn’t want to go on camera is wondering what everyone else is: why would someone do this?
“The fact that you even thought about doing that is insane to me,” the resident said.
We received a statement from Walmart that reads in part:
“The health and safety of our customers is always a top priority. We have removed and thoroughly inspected all potentially affected products at impacted stores in Biloxi. We appreciate law enforcement for their swift action and will continue cooperating with them as they investigate.”Walmart Press Office
Benson’s bond is set at $100,000.

Lily Stewart, Georgia sorority girl in viral ‘hot mugshot,’ reveals the real reason she was arrested: ‘I don’t know what all the hype is about’

She drove the internet wild — and this police officer nuts.
The Georgia sorority girl whose “hot mugshot” went viral Wednesday told The Post she was arrested because she “accidentally” started speeding immediately after getting ticketed … for speeding.
Lily Stewart, 20 — whose flawless arrest photo made the internet swoon — said she was cuffed for the double oopsie while driving to a birthday bash on a rural road March 8.
“It was the second time speeding that got me arrested,” she told The Post. “[The cop] placed me in handcuffs and put me in the back of his car.”

Stewart, who is a member of the Alpha Chi sorority, said a Georgia State Patrol officer first pulled her over for driving roughly 75 mph in a 55-mph zone not far from Athens.
“The officer saw me while he was driving the opposite direction. He was like, ‘You’re speeding’ and he was super-friendly, and I was super-friendly, and he wrote me a ticket,” the University of Georgia student said.

Family of murdered Ohio dentist, wife ‘all expected’ ex-husband’s arrest: report
“As soon as I got back in the car, I pulled out — and accidentally started speeding again. By the time I caught myself, he pulled me over and arrested me.”
It was easy to unwittingly drive too fast on the country road, she said, because “it was completely empty” with “cows grazing cows on either side.”

Stewart’s mugshot — which features her with a bright smile and spotless makeup — charmed social media users, with fans offering to pay her bail and one gushing, “They done locked up Miss America!”
But the student said she’s been laughing off the attention, which has included both praise and jokes about her glamorous appearance.
“I think it’s hilarious. I don’t know what all the hype is about. I just took a mugshot and went on with my day,” she said.
“I love all the comments poking fun at me, saying, ‘She was on her way to Lululemon’ or ‘She must have had to [pee] really bad.’”
“I don’t let it get under my skin too much,” she said.

The reason her mugshot is model-worthy is due to the timing of getting pulled over, she said.
“I was going to a friend’s birthday in Milledgeville, [Ga.] — and I had just gotten ready not long before, so that’s maybe why my makeup and hair still looked good,” she said.
On Wednesday, social media blew up with comments about her arrest photo, with some mock-pleading her innocence.
