BREMERTON, Wash. — A man who was passing himself off as an off-duty detective was arrested after showing up to an active crime scene in Bremerton with a vehicle featuring blue police lights.

The Bremerton Police Department (BPD) says the man arrived in an unmarked Ford Explorer and identified himself as an off-duty Edmonds detective. He had body armor with “POLICE” and “SWAT” logos and a metallic Edmonds Police badge.

The man turned out to be a security guard for a nearby business and he “had been committing law enforcement acts in the downtown corridor.”

Officers determined that the man was a convicted felon who was illegally possessing a firearm. He also was in possession of a large amount of police equipment when he was arrested, BPD says.

The man was booked into the Kitsap County Jail on suspicion of criminal impersonation and unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree.

Anyone who may have had an encounter with the man is asked to call Bremerton police at 360-473-5220 and reference case number B25-004726.Close Ad

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Two teenage boys, including one as young as 14, have been arrested in connection with a robbery and shooting that occurred in downtown Olympia on the night of Dec. 21.

Police say the suspects chose their victims at random in what prosecutors described as unprovoked attacks.

The incidents began when a man at the Union Gospel Mission said three individuals approached him requesting a cigarette, but ended up taking his entire pack. When the victim confronted them, one suspect pulled out a gun and said, “Whatcha going to do about it,” according to detectives.

Fifteen minutes later, three blocks away, police say the same group harassed and shot a different man who was walking his dog. Prosecutors said they do not know why the victim was targeted.

“Just the randomness of it, the bringing up of violence when really they don’t know each other. There was no real prior conflict or anything,” said Thurston County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jessica Shen.

Shen argued to hold the 18-year-old suspect on $350,000 bail.

“He was the primary instigator of the violence in this case,” said Shen, “He just attacked a random person.”

The judge agreed the suspect posed a danger to the community and ordered him held on $350,000.

Detectives said surveillance video helped them track down the teens.

Following the incidents, they collected video surveillance from the mission, the downtown transit center, and a nearby city park, then distributed the footage to local law enforcement.

Police recognized the 18-year-old. He was arrested Friday after officers traced him to his residence. KING 5 is not identifying him has not been released pending formal charges.

A second suspect, age 14, was also arrested Friday after his probation officer recognized him in the surveillance images. The teen has prior convictions for burglary, theft, and trespassing. A juvenile court judge called the case “extremely concerning” on Monday and ordered the 14-year-old held on $150,000 bail.

While victims reported three young people were involved, police say only two are being held responsible.

The shooting victim remains hospitalized in fair condition.Close Ad

SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating a series of shootings that left three people injured at different locations across the city early Saturday morning. No arrests have been made in any of the cases.

According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD),  officers responded to Harborview Medical Center at around 1:40 a.m. after a gunshot victim arrived for treatment.

The 38-year-old man had two non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his left leg. He told police the shooting happened around midnight while he was at the Mount Baker Transit Station.

According to the victim, he heard shots, felt pain, and then realized he had been hit. A friend drove him to Harborview and left him there.

Several hours later, at about 5:15 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire near North 128th Street and Aurora Avenue North. Shortly afterward, a 29-year-old woman arrived at Northwest Hospital with a gunshot wound to her leg.

Police interviewed her at the hospital, where she said she had been working along Aurora and talking with a potential customer when she heard an argument followed by gunshots nearby. She was struck in the leg while trying to run away. The victim, who was with a friend at the time, flagged down a passing driver who took her to the hospital.

Officers located the scene of the shooting, where they found multiple shell casings and a small trail of blood believed to belong to the victim.

The third shooting was reported around 6:20 a.m., when patrol officers again responded to Harborview Medical Center.

A 26-year-old man was being treated for gunshot wounds to his leg and back. He told officers he had been standing outside a hookah lounge somewhere in the SODO district when he was shot from behind by unknown suspects. As he tried to flee, he was struck again.

The man said an unidentified person drove him to the area near Harborview, dropped him off at a gas station, and told him he was at the hospital. He then walked a couple of blocks to reach the emergency department.

Police described the victim as uncooperative and noted he said he was unfamiliar with the area because he recently moved to Seattle from Arizona.

All three shootings remain open and active investigations.Close Ad

SEATTLE — Seattle police arrested a 21-year-old man armed with a shotgun and a pistol near the Space Needle during the city’s New Year’s Eve celebration, authorities said.

Officers with the Seattle Police Department responded around 7:20 p.m. Dec. 31, 2025, to reports of a man sitting on a bench near the Pacific Science Center holding a partially concealed shotgun. Witnesses told police the man was gripping the gun while facing an area where spectators were gathering for the fireworks.

Patrol officers assigned near the event center approached the man and arrested him without incident. Police said he cooperated. Officers recovered the shotgun and later found the suspect was also carrying a handgun and had a valid concealed carry permit.

Detectives from the department’s Criminal Intelligence Unit assisted patrol officers. Members of the Community Response Group located the suspect’s car nearby. The department’s Arson Bomb Squad swept the vehicle for potential weapons or explosives and found none, determining the car did not pose a threat.

Police booked the suspect into the King County Jail on suspicion of unlawful use of weapons. The Emergency Services Unit that provides campus security for the Seattle Center issued the man a one-year trespass warning.

Detectives referred potential charges to the Seattle City Attorney’s Office.Close Ad

Medical examiner’s report confirms identities of Mercer Island, Issaquah shooting victims

The family members were found dead in homes on Mercer Island and Issaquah on Dec. 30, 2025.

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. — A King County medical examiner’s report confirms the identities of the three people police suspect were killed by a family member Dec. 30.

Danielle Cuvillier, 80, Dominick Cuvillier, 34, and Harmony Danner, 44, died from gunshot wounds. The suspect, 45-year-old Mackenzie Williams, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the report.

The family members were found dead in homes on Mercer Island and Issaquah on Dec. 30, 2025.

First, around 10:45 a.m., police discovered the bodies of Danielle Cuvillier, and her son, Mackenzie Williams, inside the mother’s home on Mercer Island.

Shortly thereafter, officers in Issaquah conducted a welfare check at Williams’ Issaquah home on the 400 block of Southeast Evans Lane. Harmony and Dominick were found dead inside.

Multiple sources confirmed to KING 5 that police believe Williams shot and killed his wife and his brother in Issaquah, then killed his mother in her home on Mercer Island, before shooting and killing himself.

Court records reveal a year-long battle over the care and guardianship of Nick, Williams’ brother who has Angelman syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that left him mostly non-verbal and reliant on assistance for activities of daily living.

A year ago, Danielle Cuvillier filed paperwork for a protection order against her son Williams. She cited concerns about his mental stability, unpredictable behavior and access to firearms, KING 5 previously reported. After the order was filed, court documents show Williams turned over 53 firearms to the Issaquah Police Department.

Court records also show that Williams said his mother “stated several times that she intended to kill Nick and then herself,” prompting Williams and his father to remove the father’s firearms and secure them in Williams’ gun safe seven years ago. Williams said the statements and his mother’s behavior caused him increasing concern for Nick’s safety.

The protection order against Williams was dropped approximately three weeks ago.

A bio for Williams states he graduated from the University of Washington with an engineering degree in 2006. Friends tell KING he’d been unemployed for several months.
